Sunday Funday: Christmas Decoration style
This week’s adventure has us staying close to home. We recently set up our Christmas tree and TV stand garland. I was postponing putting up exterior lighting and decorations largely due to the expense of new decorations. BUT I caved. I decided I love Christmas decorations and therefore I wanted to add them to my house’s decor. I may have gone a little overboard… I picked up candy cane lights (something I’ve wanted FOREVER), and reindeer to decorate the lawn… given that I can’t put lights on the actual eaves.
This may not fully be the idea I had in mind for my candy cane lanes. But I more so struggled with seeding the spikes into the cold New England ground. Hmmm Something I did NOT think about when I purchased the decoration. Whoops!
The reindeer were a bit of a challenge to put together… I didn’t exactly read the minimalistic instructions. But again… driving in the stakes in cold weather was a major challenge. But didn’t they turn out great?! I love these. The buck even has a moving head! So cool!
Here’s the last of today’s decorations. I put up lights on my two most used balconies/porch. There’s a middle balcony that I don’t use… and didn’t want to spend money on lights for. But don’t these sparkling little beauties look great?
Now I’m just waiting for my smart plugs and extension cords to come in to set timers for my lights… to avoid missing out on seeing them lit but also to not waste electricity with leaving them on. It’s also way too cold to go around plugging everything in. My fingers about froze setting up the candy cane lane and buck. FROZE-N!
