Self Care Sunday: Puppacinos
Today we brought back old traditions. Back in our Cali days Hazel Nut & I would walk to the nearest Starbucks for coffee and puppacinos.
While Connecticut doesn’t quite work out for the walk to Starbucks, they still provide puppacinos. 🙂 Western mass wasn’t the greatest at the puppacinos – she’d get a dollop of whipped cream on a lid.
Regardless of the state we’ve moved to, walking to Starbucks isn’t quite the same. My current neighborhood isn’t the safest so I’m totally freaked to walk her despite the relatively close mileage to the nearest Starbucks. Instead we do puppacinos in the back of the car to get her fix!
Our Cali routine used to be to walk just under a mile to the neighborhood Starbucks. That mile was an easy walk with a full sidewalk and a patio. This allowed for some time with sunshine, fresh air, and exercising our limbs. New England doesn’t apparently believe in sidewalks… And patios are few and far between.
A point that is beyond me. I mean I guess I get the whole you have to shovel the sidewalk etc. But I miss walking my dog on complete sidewalks. And restaurant patios. In short I think I miss California. Sunshine. Walkable neighborhoods.
So we’re bringing back our Sunday traditions – with a little New England flare. Let’s hope 2020 brings us back to… well us.
Happy Sunday 🙂
