Me Monday: Facial time
This Monday I arranged for a facial at my local Massage Envy.
As I sat on my table I thought of so many things. One of the problems with my stress level is not being able to turn off the brain waves. But the thought crossed my mind that I could not remember the last time I was in for a facial. My poor pores! It felt great to get them cleaned out and my face conditioned.
While I have always enjoyed my experience there… I have yet to experience a service when they are ON TIME. Every service my therapist (facial or massage) is late. I could understand if I was not on time… but if I was repeatedly late they WOULD CANCEL MY APPOINTMENTS. It would be one thing if the whole day just ran over… but the other clients usually arrive after me and get called before me. Dear ME Management… please consider looking into this…
But back to my self care post. If you’ve never had a facial…. I’d recommend it. Not the silly paper facials from the store. I mean a real facial. Today’s day in age there are several methods by which you can work out your own facial at home. But there is just something different about getting it professionally done. It’s a splurge I started enjoying during my residency… and one I plan to continue to do as long as I can.
I think Self Care is SO important. It’s my self care hour of the week. While I’ve been working in my yoga routine at night before bed… some nights I’m just not in the mood to do it. Working on a routine is important as everyone else says. But sticking to the routine is harder to do. Especially when my days are somewhat irregular. So when I can sneak in these hour sessions it’s great.
What’s your self care indulgence ?
