Building a Garden: RV Style
One thing I’ve ALWAYS wanted to get started, but could never seem to manage, was a garden. More specifically a veggie garden. I wanted to work towards growing my own food. Maybe it’s a part of my family’s influences. Maybe it’s me trying to bring food groups back into my diet through clean gardening. Whatever it is. . . Today I took the plunge.
I planted carrots, zucchini, cabbage, spinach, brussel sprouts and cucumbers. All veggies I’m currently eating… Hazel’s new food even needs carrots and zucchinis. So if we’re able to grow these veggie… it’s going to cut down on my budget. Which – hello. Every thing, little or big, helps.
These little babes will take anywhere from a week to two weeks to sprout. Once the seedlings come out to play then we’re off to the races! But once they start sprouting then I’ll have transplant these babies into pots. Yes. Pots.
Unlike families living in stationary housing, my garden has to be able to move with me. So my planters have to be mobile, or able to be broken done to an extent in order to relocate as needed. I’m toying with the idea of whether or not to use my clear bins instead of pots, or opt for the pots. I think I may end up using both concepts for a portable garden.
