No GYM… No problem
I’m new to the neighborhood. I’m also working on my budget… The latter is why I have no gym membership… yet. However my weight gain will likely be why I extend my budget to include a gym membership.
I’m also realistic. We’re no longer in California anymore Hazel Nut. Welcome to the frigid North East. Where it rains daily, and floods regularly. The benefit of trying to stay on budget is I have zero desire to go out, even to my car, in the rain… Once the winter turns to actual snow forget it. However… if this fall is any indication all it’s ever going to do here is RAIN.
Bright side is one can download any number of apps to stay fit without gym equipment. All you have to do is hold yourself accountable and GET ‘ER DONE.
Sometimes all you need is some motivation. My motivation is new gear. And the desire to look fit, feel great, and get healthy.
One thing to be sure… we all need motivation. Some days more than others. But as long as we stick to it we will (albeit slowly, but surely) start to see results.
Here’s my nighttime ritual:
- Bathroom Squats – squat while brushing my teeth. We all should brush our teeth twice a day, for two minutes at a time. That gives you the opportunity to squat for 2-4 minutes PER DAY. GET ‘ER DONE.
- Crunches -100 crunches. Work your way to more. But lets start with reps of 20-25. Break them up, take your time, but don’t quit until you make it to 100! On my good days I go to 200.
- Leg Lifts – 10-20 reps. These are harder for me. Largely because of my back issues. However, still gotta GET ‘ER DONE.
- Star Jumps vs Jumping Jacks – I alternate between these two. I vary between 20 and 100. Depends on when I last ate… LOL
- Plank – aim for 15 seconds. Goal = 60 seconds.
- Push Ups – 2 sets of 5 reps. These are sometimes rough on my neck and back. But beauty is pain, or so they say?
The fun fact about all of these moves… they don’t require any equipment. They don’t require a gym. All they require is you, and your desire to get fit.
